Itinerary

  • Day 1Getting to Hampi from Your City

    Start in the morning from your city and drive to Hampi in your own vehicles. Arrive in Hampi by 4 pm. Optional hike to Bala Anjaneya Hilltop to catch the sunset.

    Overnight in a resort.

  • Day 2Adventure & Nature Activities

    The day starts with a lovely early morning jungle walk and bird-watching on Hippie Island, followed by breakfast and a coracle ride in Tungabhadra.

    A hike to an amazing spot about 30 km from Hampi. (we’d prefer to keep this a surprise, and therefore are not giving all the details here!)

    Witness the sunset from a view point and return to the resort.

  • Day 3Hampi Cultural Tour

    An entire day’s guided exploration of the ruins of the Vijayanagar Empire that gives you an insight into the right cultural past of Hampi. The sights include Virupaksha temple, Matanga Hill, Queen’s bath, Royal Enclosure and Vittala temple.

  • Day 4Drive Back to Your City

    The day starts with an early morning hike to Shivpuri fort. The steep climb to the top is totally worth it. The tiny fort itself is in ruins but the views of the boulders and the lake nearby are excellent.

    Your amazing Hampi experience comes to an end after breakfast! Drive back to your city to reach by evening

What is the weather like during the best season?

Hampi is hot for most part of the year. November to February is the best time to visit the place. The average high ranges from 30 to 37 degrees C, and the average low ranges from 15 to 25 degrees C.

What is the minimum recommended age for the walking holiday?

The recommended minimum age for doing this trip is 7 years. However you are the best judge. If your child is physically active and is used to walking long distances, he or she should be able to do it, even if younger than 7. Adequate preparation is necessary though.

What kind of preparation is recommended for participants?

Brisk walking – at least 3 km, at least 3 or 4 times a week, preferably on hilly terrain.

Stair-climbing – at least 10 minutes of climbing up and down stairs everyday.

Are laundry facilities available?

Yes, laundry facilities are available for a fee.

Can I use sports shoes or do I need to buy trekking shoes?

While this walking holiday is doable using sports shoes, trekking shoes are highly recommended since they have a better grip and are usually waterproof. It is very important that you break-in new shoes before coming on the trek.

Is water safe to drink in these places?

It is advisable to carry personal water purifiers (Aquaguard and LifeStraw are two popular brands available online).

How is the mobile connectivity on this trip?

All the places have decent  mobile connectivity and the resort will have WiFi.
