A unique Andamans itinerary that includes none of the usual tourist traps! This walking holiday focuses on middle and north Andamans which are untouched by mainstream tourism.

Hike through verdant tropical evergreen, littoral and mangrove forests. Learn all about the unique flora and the endemic birds of the Andamans. Visit an exquisite unexplored beach in Middle Andamans. A guided beach walk on a stunningly beautiful, secluded beach in North Andamans familiarizes you with the intertidal zone and the organisms that inhabit it. Hike to the highest peak in the islands and enjoy the spellbinding vistas from there.

Itinerary

  • Day 1Port Blair - Havelock Island

    Take a flight that reaches Port Blair before noon. Take the afternoon ferry to the beautiful Havelock island.

  • Day 2Havelock Island

    Enjoy sunrise from the resort’s private beach. After breakfast, trek to Elephant beach (2 km). Here, you can indulge in water sports such as parasailing, water skiing etc. In the afternoon, you have the option of experiencing SCUBA or snorkeling.

  • Day 3Havelock Island - Long Island

    Check out from the resort and head to the jetty to take the govt. ferry to Long Island, a less-frequented island in Middle Andamans (2 hours). Proceed by road to Lalaji Bay, a hidden gem, an outstanding strip of white sand that gives you an edge-of-the-world feel. Check into a basic resort run by the forest department. Enjoy a beach walk or a hike through the forest in the afternoon.

  • Day 4Long Island - Yeratta - Kalipur

    Take a speed boat to Yeratta jetty near Rangat in Middle Andamans. The route passes through several creeks, surrounded by virgin mangrove forests on either side. From Yeratta, proceed by road to Kalipur in North Andamans (5 hours). Time permitting, stop at Dhaninullah. The 1-hour mangrove boardwalk to Dhaninullah beach is an excellent experience that is educational as well.

  • Day 5Kalipur - Saddle Peak - Kalipur

    Saddle Peak is the highest peak of Andaman and Nicobar Islands. The hike to Saddle Peak from Lamiya Bay and back should take about 7 hours. Enjoy panoramic views of the coast all the way from Diglipur to Mayabunder from a few spots along the trail. Overnight in Kalipur.

  • Day 6Kalipur - Ross & Smith - Kalipur

    Post breakfast, Visit Ross and Smith islands which are a short boat ride off Aerial Bay jetty near Kalipur. Enjoy an away-from-it-all experience on these picturesque islands. Go on a 3 + 3 km beachwalk that familiarizes you with the intertidal zone and littoral forests. Return to Aerial bay and drive back to Kalipur.

  • Day 7Kalipur - Cuthbert Bay - Rangat

    Checkout after breakfast and set off on the drive towards middle Andamans. Today’s hike will be an interesting 3-hour one near Cuthbert Bay that involves crossing several small streams. After the hike drive to Rangat and check into a comfortable resort there.

  • Day 8Rangat - Port Blair

    Your unique walking holiday experience in the Andamans comes to an end in Port Blair (6 to 7 drive from Rangat).
